Back in KL

Given the long weekend, I spent several days in the wilderness of Endau Rompin, all the way down and east. It is closer to Singapore than it is to Kuala Lumpur. Leeches, exhaustion made the longing for my bed so strong that I wish I was back home in KL while I was there. Now that I am back, how I wish that I had stayed there a little while longer, right by the Endau River, frolicking under the blue sky and mountains far taller than the Petronas Twin Towers. I am missing Endau Rompin badly.

Ironic isn’t it?

With that longing in mind, I have decided to visit for Bukit Nanas Forest Reserve in the center of KL next week with the Malaysian Nature Society. The forest reserve sits right below and around KL Tower, yet another one of the tallest towers in the world. Yes, KL folks have weird love for superlative.

But thanks the heaven that KL is still partly covered with greens. Perhaps, this is one of the advantages living in a small tropical city where demand for development, while increasingly insatiable, doesn’t require nature, or whatever left of it, to be replaced with concrete jungle, yet.

You don’t miss Pasir Kumpal, hor? :) But I think you will also love Chagar Hutang, think about it :)

Perhaps we can book a slot or two for bloggers only next year? That would be fun! :)
